Many young drivers make the mistake of choosing the very first auto insurance quote that they get. The problem is that no two car insurance companies will give you the same quote.
You see, each company assigns the insurance premium that you will pay based off a variety of factors involving you and the vehicle you are insuring. But since these companies have different viewpoints on these factors, they will each give you a unique insurance quote.
Going with the very first choice you are given rarely works out in your benefit. Would you buy the first car that you saw? Or the first house? So why not shop around for car insurance?
Finding cheap car insurance for young drivers is not a particular easy thing to do. And since getting auto insurance quotes is free, it makes sense for you to get as many auto insurance quotes as possible. (If you want to save money, that is).
I’ll share a little personal story with you. Recently, my auto insurance policy was about to expire. Normally, I just renew it without thinking. But since I had been doing a lot of research lately on car insurance while developing this blog, I thought it would be a good idea to get some free quotes from other auto insurance companies.
And boy I’m glad I did. I spent about 30 minutes getting insurance quotes from about 6 auto insurance websites. Most wanted info on myself and my car. No big deal. I mean, how else are they going to give me an accurate quote?
Now, most of the quotes I got were pretty much in line with what I’m paying now. But there was this one company that I had never heard of, which gave me an insurance quote that was $25 less per month that I’m paying now.
$25 X 12 months = $300 yearly savings
I got the exact same coverage as I had before, but am saving myself $300! And remember, I had only spent about 30 minutes getting the insurance quotes. (That’s $10 per minute for you Math geniuses).
As a young driver, car insurance premiums tend to be quite high. But the premiums won’t be the same for each company. As you have seen, spending a few minutes doing your research (ie. getting numerous auto insurance quotes) can make sure that you are finding the best possible car insurance for young drivers.
Here are two auto insurance websites to start off your research:
Auto Insurance Company #1
